Are you looking for a Nursery place for your 3 or 4 year old?
At Woodwater Academy Nursery, we provide educational childcare for children from the term after their 3rd birthday until starting Primary School. We are part of Ventrus Multi-Academy Trust and are part of Woodwater Academy.
We want children to be excited about coming to Nursery and to develop a love of learning. We want them to be motivated, tuned in, and challenged as they start their educational journey. Ofsted has rated our Nursery setting as Outstanding.
Our Nursery offers a wide range of engaging, educational activities throughout the day. As well as a large indoor area, we have a secure semi-covered outdoor space dedicated to our Nursery and Foundation age children, which offers a safe environment for children to enjoy the out doors. Whilst at Nursery your child will have the opportunity to learn through play building on their own interests and skills.
Young artists can be ‘hands on’ in our creative areas and future scientists can explore and investigate objects and ideas:
Performers can sing, dance and act out stories on the outside stage and mathematicians can problem solve with numbers, shapes and measurements:
Imaginative inventors can design and build in our many construction areas and budding writers can mark make and develop their writing skills both inside and outside, and those who love a good book, can settle in our reading shed or story house to get lost in an imaginary world.
Times of sessions and fees
Our Nursery provides wrap around cover between the hours of 7:45am and 6:00pm. Sessions can be paid for with early years funding, cash or childcare vouchers.

A school meal can be booked if your child is attending the afternoon session or staying all day. If your child is entitled to free school meals, these can only be claimed if the child is attending all day.
Settling sessions
We will invite you and your child into the Nursery unit for two 45 minute taster sessions, you will need to stay with your child during these visits. We will then inviting your child back to the unit for 2 ‘settling sessions’, these will last an hour and we ask you to drop your child off, collecting them at the end of the session.
Entitlement
All children are entitled to 15 hours (5 sessions) of funded childcare per week from the term after their 3rd birthday. Some families may be eligible for 30 hours extended funding, this is dependent on your financial circumstance. In addition, you may pay for extra sessions if required. Other funding may also be available through schemes such as Working Tax Credits, Childcare Vouchers etc. For more information about entitlement and funding please visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/
Booking and paying for additional sessions
When booking your child’s sessions, both funded and paid we ask you to commit to those sessions for a whole term. Nursery fees for additional sessions are for a childcare place at Nursery, not based on attendance. If your child cannot attend for any reason, fees must still be paid. Fees must be paid half-termly in advance.
