Sports Day is on Wednesday 12 June 2024. We are very fortunate that this year it is being planned and organised by Mr Andy Tyrrell who teaches PE to children across the school. The children will take part in a range of multi-skills team activities and some traditional races. Mr Tyrrell is going to practise some of the activities this week with the children so that they are familiar with the format and skills before the day.
KS2 (Years 3, 4, 5 & 6) will take place from 9.30am – 11.30am.
KS1(Years 1 & 2) and Reception will take place from 1.30pm – 3pm.
Spectators will have access to the field 15 minutes beforehand, via the field gate on Woodwater Lane. Please do not arrive earlier than that.
Spectators need to bring their own refreshments and will be able to move around the outer area of the field to watch the children but will need to remain in the area designated for families. Photos can be taken for personal use as we understand that it is important to record these memorable events. However, it is essential that these photos are not shared on social media if any other children or members of the school community are visible (even in the background).
It is essential your child has their school PE kit and trainers on this day, as well as a water bottle. Reception children can wear a t-shirt, shorts and trainers from home. Please send a sun hat and apply sun cream in the morning if the weather requires it.
The day is obviously weather dependent, as are some of the activities, but we look forward to welcoming you for a day of sporting fun. The reserve date in 19 June, should poor weather prevent this event from going ahead.
